As the world of comms moves from traditional telephone suppliers, using major networks where the majority of providers are regulated with rules laid down by Ofcom, to a market where the number of providers is increasing dramatically and largely by non-voice specialists, who are not regulated, it is sensible if all end users understand the ownership of the numbers and the rights that they have to move their numbers to a different provider.

All telephone numbers are owned by HM Government who transfer the ‘right of use’ to the end user, the business that answer the telephone when a call is made. Service providers can impose term contracts but they cannot have ownership of your telephone numbers. To keep life as easy as possible, it is always worth checking the detail of any contract that you are presented with.

If you would like NSL to manage your telephone numbers please email or alternatively speak to a member of the team on 0345 678 6646.
